The short version: some gear links on this site earn the studio a commission, they never change what gets recommended, and this site does not track you.
Affiliate disclosure
Split Pantz Prodxns participates in affiliate advertising programs. That means some links to products on this site are affiliate links: if you click one and buy something, the studio may receive a commission from the retailer. The price you pay is the same either way, and you are never charged anything extra for using one.
Programs this site participates in are listed here as they are approved. Where a program requires specific wording, that wording appears on the pages it applies to.
What a commission does not buy
- It does not buy a recommendation. Reviews are written and the verdict is set before any link is placed. A product we would not buy does not get a link, regardless of whether a program exists for it.
- It does not buy copy approval. No brand, retailer, or program reads a review before it publishes, and no brand can request a change after it does.
- It does not buy a positive verdict. Negative reviews publish, and they publish without links.
- It does not hide. Posts containing affiliate links carry a disclosure at the top of the post, not only in the footer.
Gifted and loaned products
Where a product was sent to us free of charge, loaned for testing, or bought at a discount, that is stated in the first paragraph of the review. Where it was bought at full retail, that is stated too. Our testing terms are the same for every brand: a full training block of use, no copy approval, and no guaranteed verdict.
Our own products
Split Pantz Prodxns makes training apparel and the Splitz app. Where this site writes about its own products, that is a first-party promotion, not a review, and it is labelled as such. We do not rank our own apparel against products we review.
Editorial standards
- Apparel runs a minimum of four weeks of real training before a verdict. Equipment runs a minimum of eight.
- Numbers quoted in reviews — session counts, loads, rounds — come out of the Splitz session log, not from memory.
- Brand-level verdicts are not published on a single unit. Single-unit tests are published as spec comparisons with brands unnamed.
- Prices are the prices paid, with the date. They go out of date; check the retailer.
Not advice
The Splitz Journal is people writing about their own training. Nothing on this site is medical, physiotherapy, or professional coaching advice, and nothing here is personalised to you. Training is load on a body you know better than we do. If something hurts, see someone qualified.
Privacy
This is a static site. It has no accounts, no comments, no forms, and no shopping cart. We do not ask you for personal information and there is nothing here to log into.
What we collect
Nothing, directly. We run no analytics, set no first-party cookies, and operate no tracking pixels on this site.
What our providers see
- Hosting — Cloudflare. This site is served by Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes your IP address and request metadata to deliver the page and protect the service. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for what they retain.
- Fonts — Google Fonts. Typefaces load from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, which means Google receives your IP address and user agent when a page loads. No cookie is set by this.
- Email — if you write to us. Mail sent to the address below reaches our provider's inbox and we keep it as long as we need it to answer you. We do not add you to a marketing list without you asking.
- Retailers — if you follow a gear link. Affiliate links pass a tracking identifier to the retailer so a referral can be attributed. The retailer's own cookies and privacy policy then apply, not ours. Following a link is the only thing on this site that shares anything about you with a third party for commercial purposes, and no link does it until you click it.
Your rights
Because we hold no profile on you, there is generally nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence removed, write to the address below and we will delete it.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
